Tools & Diagnostics
We use a small number of research-based tools to give leaders and organisations clear, practical insight – not labels or tick-the-box reports. Every tool is paired with coaching, workshops or culture work so that insight turns into action.
How we use tools at MetaPeople
Tools don’t fix culture or leadership on their own. We use diagnostics like MBTI®, LSI®, OCI® and OEI® as starting points for honest conversations, coaching and structured development – helping managers and teams see what’s really going on and what they can do differently.
Our core tools
Each tool gives a different lens on people and culture. Click through to see how we use them.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®)
A practical framework for understanding personality preferences, communication styles and team dynamics. Useful for improving day-to-day collaboration and helping managers adapt their approach to different people.
Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI®)
A 360° tool that shows how leaders think and behave at work – and how others experience them. Used to build self-awareness, shift defensive patterns and strengthen constructive leadership and management habits.
OCI® & OEI® – Culture Diagnostics
Organisational Culture Inventory® (OCI®) and Organisational Effectiveness Inventory® (OEI®) provide a clear picture of your current culture, the factors driving it and its impact on engagement and performance.
Which tool is right for you?
MBTI® – preferences and team dynamics
Best when you want to build understanding, improve communication and reduce friction in teams, cross-functional groups or leadership cohorts.
LSI® – leadership and management behaviour
Best when you want leaders and managers to see how their behaviour is experienced by others and make practical changes to how they lead, manage and coach.
OCI® & OEI® – culture and organisational levers
Best when you want an honest, data-based view of your culture, the factors shaping it and where to focus to build a more constructive, high-performing workplace.
We often use these tools together – for example, OCI®/OEI® for culture and LSI® for individual leaders.
Our approach to using tools with leaders and organisations
Coaching and facilitation first, tools second – tools support the conversation, they don’t replace it.
Behaviour and culture focused – results are always linked back to real behaviours, routines and decisions, not abstract theory.
Context-aware – we tailor how we introduce and debrief tools to your industry, structure and current challenges.
Integrated, not standalone – tools are woven into coaching, management development, team workshops and culture work – not run as one-off events.
Tools & diagnostics –FAQ's
FAQ 1: Do we have to choose the tool ourselves?
No. We’ll start with your goals and context, then recommend the tool or combination of tools that makes the most sense.
FAQ 2: Can these tools be used with all levels of the business?
Yes. MBTI®, LSI® and OCI®/OEI® can all be used with different levels – from frontline managers to senior leaders – with the content and examples tailored accordingly.
FAQ 3: Are these tools used on their own?
Rarely. We normally use them as part of a broader piece of work – such as management development, team development, coaching or culture programs – so that insight leads to action and follow-through.
FAQ 4: Can any of this be delivered online?
Yes. Many assessments are completed online, and debriefs can be delivered via video. Some group workshops work best in person; we’ll advise on formats that support psychological safety and good discussion.
Not sure which tool fits your situation?
If you’re considering MBTI®, LSI® or OCI®/OEI® and want to understand what would work best for your managers or organisation, we’d be happy to talk it through.
